Corozal, Belize

We left Maya Beach headed out on our big adventure, all excited about the trip! I am not going to post a bunch of pics of driving to Corozal, the town nearest the Mexico/Belize border because frankly, I go up and down the roads in between the Placecnia Peninsula and Belize City quite frequently. The Northern Highway going to Corozal was quite desolate in some parts--sure would had to break down there...might be a while before someone could come help.
When we started approaching Orange Walk, and certainly nearing Corozal town, we started seeing lots and lots of sugar cane trucks like these.
We drove around Corozal a little bit looking for a hotel, and settled on Hok'ol K'in Guesthouse
downtown. Nice, clean, and comfortable with wi-fi, it was just what we were looking for!

It got dark pretty quickly, so we took a little walk around town to check it out. It is just a typical Belize town, with small shops of all kinds, but the down town does feature a pleasant public park that was all decorated for Christmas!
The next morning we awoke to a slightly rainy day that looked like it might clear off after a while.
So now we are off to Mexico! Yippee!
